The Floatboxx MCM is a metal VESC box for the Onewheel XR platform. To replace a broken XR controller or as the simplest way to start your VESC adventure while keeping the stock battery pack and harness.
The strong stainless steel controller box houses the Cheap Focer VESC controller. The VESC is mounted on the lid which is a large, unpainted aluminium heatsink.
MCM: for CFocer
- M: Compatible with the stock XR 6-pin Molex for Hypercore
- C: With 4x M3 studs fixed to mount the Cheap Focer VESC
- M: Compatible with the stock XR 16-pin Molex battery harnass
Weight: 900 gr = 2 lbs (box, screws, lid, seal)
There is no need for a footpad support plate.
The advantage of Floatboxx box compared to other type of boxes:
- Strong ! Does not break under heavy use
- Stainless steel welded construction
- Stainless steel inserts for the lid and rail mounting
- Practical
- Easy to waterproof: welding imperfections can be closed with silicone/MS Polymer/...
- The handle remains fully available
- Mounting holes for 3D printed LED strip holder (proto pictures above do not feature them yet)
- Improved heat dissipation for the controller:
- The controller is mounted to the 3 mm aluminium lid
Compatibility:
- rails: all stock and after-market XR rails
- bumpers: stock, Bangs.
- footpad: stock XR, DIY footpads* (*possibly a hole must be made for the cable exit)

Connections:
The connectors should be purchased separately:
- on/off switch: ø19 mm hole for the switch
- Pre-wired available from MakersPEV/Customwheel, but preferably shortened
- charge plug: D-shaped hole for the Neutrik NC3 MPR-HD XLR
- Pre-wired available from MakersPEV/Customwheel
- hall/footpad: 2x D-shaped holes for Switchcraft connectors
- Prewired from MakersPEV/Customwheel
- motor: compatible with the Hypercore 6-pin Molex. Note that we designed for the Molex 6-pin with the gasket outside the box:

Important notes:

- Floatboxx MCM has limited internal space, so cable lengths matter to be able to tuck them away. These are the advised cable lengths in mm:

Notes:
- We use metric screws and tools: M5 to mount the box, M3 to mount the lid
- Floatboxx is not guaranteed to be waterproof on it's own. Do a visual inspection first for small gaps. For 100% certainty: use the Badgerwheel kit . Total waterproofness depends on the complete assembly by the user.
- Use a 1 mm thermal pad between the box and the Mosfets.
